— Maria Belen Chapur, the formerly elusive fiancee of Mark Sanford, stepping out in public again to attend his swearing-in at the Capitol on Wednesday afternoon. Black sheath, black slingbacks, bare legs, her longish dark hair blonder at the ends. She looked around shyly as she headed up to the House Gallery with what looked like his family.

Update: Belen Chapur also stood by Sanford’s side as he did his ceremonial swearing-in with House Speaker John Boehner. After getting sworn in during the dinnertime votes, the couple and about 15 or so of his supporters got a private tour of key spots in the Capitol, including Statuary Hall, reports our colleague Paul Kane.
