FILE - In this Sept. 13, 2009 file photo, singer Kanye West takes the microphone from singer Taylor Swift as she accepts the "Best Female Video" award during the MTV Video Music Awards in New York. West is still feeling the pain over his trophy grab from Taylor Swift last year, and heís expressing his pain all over Twitter. West has unleashed a torrent of emotions on his official Twitter on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, acknowledging he was wrong for taking an award from the country sweetheart at the MTV Video Music Awards. But he says he "bled hard." He says he had to cancel his tour with Lady Gaga and even lost employees. (AP Photo/Jason DeCrow, File)

“It’s only led me to complete awesomeness at all times. It’s only led me to awesome truth and awesomeness. Beauty, truth, awesomeness. That’s all it is.”

– Kanye West, when asked by the New York Times if his self-described impulse to “fight for justice” (others call it “mouthing off” or “making everything all about Kanye”) hasn’t occasionally led him astray (such as the time he interrupted Taylor Swift’s MTV awards speech to declare that Beyonce’s performance was better). In a long and deliciously self-aggrandizing interview, his only big regret in that department seems to be that, when he proclaimed on live TV in 2005 that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” he was wearing “like, a Juicy Couture men’s polo shirt. We weren’t there, like, ready for war.” (Read the whole thing: Kanye West talks about his career)
