Oh, Canada! Do our neighbors to the north offer the best diplomatic swag in town? There were the thick woollen maple-leaf mittens the embassy handed out at its inauguration party in January. And at Monday’s Canada Day “stampede pancake breakfast,” co-sponsored by the Canadian American Business Council, it was okay if you didn’t dress in the suggested “casual or Western” attire because they offered nifty white cowboy hats at the door. As for the “made in Mexico” tags inside — another neighborly gesture!
