Seller: Debra Lee

Price: $4.7 million

Details: It was home to two different Redskins owners — first George Preston Marshall,  and decades later Jack Kent Cooke — but for the past several years this five-bedroom “California-style” mansion near Woodley Park was home to a new breed of mogul, BET chief exec Debra Lee, who bought it for $4 million. Designed by legendary mid-century modernist Edward Durrell Stone, its 4,400 square feet features 11-foot doors, glass-brick walls, a two-car garage, and a backyard that slopes into Rock Creek Park. Lee had it on and off the market for a few years, having already moved into her new “dream home” around the corner, originally listing it at $8.5 million. Lee told us it took a while to find the right buyer who’d want such a modern place in an otherwise traditional neighborhood — but after a couple price drops, she did.
