Tom Hanks has diabetes: ‘It’s controllable’

“My doctor said, ‘Look, if you can weigh as much as you weighed in high school, you will essentially be completely healthy — will not have Type 2 diabetes.’ And I said to her, ‘Well, I’m gonna have type 2 diabetes!’. . . I weighed 96 pounds in high school!”

– Tom Hanks revealing his recent diagnosis to David Letterman on Monday night’s “Late Show.” The slimmed-down actor, 57, noted that the disease “is controllable.” And besides, “something’s gonna kill us all, Dave.”
