Every time Michael Douglas talks about his cancer, the stranger he sounds. In 2010, he announced that he had throat cancer (and that he had recovered from the disease.) This past summer, we got TMI when he told a British paper that the cancer might have been caused by an HPV virus from oral sex. Now the actor, 69, is saying he lied about his diagnosis — turns out he actually had tongue cancer, reports People. Why the fib? Apparently, Douglas didn’t want to bail on his “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” promotional tour, but doctors advised him that talking about tongue cancer might creep out fans because of potentially disfiguring surgery — at least, that’s what Douglas told Samuel L. Jackson during a UK talk show “This Morning.” Weird, huh?
