Woman on health care homepage speaks out about being ‘the most despised face on the planet’

Wondering how things are going for that smiling lady who used to be on the HealthCare.gov homepage? Yeah, her life isn’t so great right now. The Colombia native named Adriana (no last name, please) sat down for a teary interview on “Good Morning America” Wednesday, claiming she’s been cyberbullied because people associated the problematic Web site with her grinning face. “I’m here to stand up for myself and defend myself,” said Adriana, who lives in Maryland with her husband and toddler son. She says she was never paid for use of the photo — ABC reports she was asked by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service if it could use her image in exchange for free family pictures. Now she’s been labeled by critics as “the most despised face on the planet.” “I don’t know why people should hate me because it’s just a photo,” she told ABC. “I didn’t design the website. I didn’t make it fail, so I don’t think they should have any reasons to hate me.”
