Briefly: Billy Joel, Sam Champion, Will Ferrell

December 4, 2013

Billy Joel, Kennedy Center Honoree, has made history by becoming Madison Square Garden’s first “artist in residence.” Translation? He will play a concert at the venue once a month, forever, or until he gets tired of it. (Rolling Stone)

Farewell, Sam Champion — the weatherman celebrated his last day Wednesday as the “Good Morning America” meteorologist. Unlike certain morning show transitions, there was no awkward, final-day drama: The show cheerfully bid him goodbye and  introduced Ginger Zee as his replacement. (ABC)

Will Ferrell visited the Newseum on Tuesday night to chat with The Post’s Ann Hornaday about the new “Anchorman” exhibit. “I remember the day we wrapped ‘Anchorman,’ we said, ‘One day this would be in a museum,’” he said. (WTOP)
