NBA’s Wade opens up about son
The Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade, 31, said Monday evening that his infant son, fathered with another woman while on a temporary break from fiancee Gabrielle Union, 41, is a “blessing to the bloodline,” the Miami Herald reports. Wade answered questions from the press about the child before the team’s game Monday against the Denver Nuggets.Wade said he is going to “focus on what’s most important to me and my family, and that’s being a great father. I’ve always tried to show my importance in my kids’ lives and it doesn’t change now.” Union, the “Being Mary Jane” actress, accepted the three-time NBA champion’s marriage proposal Dec 21. Union was aware of the child before Wade proposed.Wade, who has two other sons, said that he has seen the baby boy, who is a month old, and says that nothing changes about him or how he supports his family. “I’m always going to be a father first,” he said. “But, like I said, this is something, obviously, private for my family that we will continue to deal with [as a] family.”
TV gig for Tim Tebow
Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, 26, will join ESPN as a college football analyst for the new SEC Network, People reports. The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner’s television debut is set for August on “SEC Nation.” Tebow’s contract includes a stipulation that will allow him to play in the NFL if a team signs him. Tebow was last signed by the New England Patriots, who cut him before the season started. “I feel like I’m the best that I’ve ever been as a quarterback right now. I hope I get the opportunity to show that,” Tebow said. “But I’m also looking forward to being part of ‘SEC Nation’ and part of ESPN.”
Rapper Eve, 35, is engaged to her boyfriend of three years, British designer and Gumball 3000 motor rally founder Maximillion Cooper, 41, E! News reports. Cooper proposed on Christmas Eve while the couple was in Scotland.“Thank u 2 everybody 4 your congratulations on our engagement!” the “Lip Lock” rapper tweeted.
