Sen. Rand Paul will send his first snapchat tonight

Two snaps up for the senator!

While it might be a week late and a download short for New Jersey governor Chris Christie’s camp, Snapchat, the popular photo-sharing app that magically makes posts disappear after they’ve been viewed, is available to politicians looking to connect with (and maybe keep some secrets from) plugged-in constituents.

Case in point: Today Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) announced on Facebook that he’s just joined Snapchat.

Paul plans to send out his first “snap” tonight, promising a sneak peek at “behind-the-scenes footage.” The announcement post on Paul’s official Facebook page has received more than 700 likes thus far.

But not all of the senator’s supporters will be following “senatorrandpaul” Snapchat. One concerned citizen wrote, “this could be a major problem.”
