The Obamas do an early “low key” Valentine’s Day celebration

Hey Isn’t That… The first couple dining at Penn Quarter’s Oyamel on Saturday night. We assume the Obamas were celebrating Valentine’s Day a week early since they’ll be apart on February 14th with the president traveling first to Maryland and then California.

After Mrs. Obama’s high wattage 50th birthday bash in January she said that Valentine’s Day 2014 would be toned down. “I had a great couple of weeks, so I think we’re going to low-key it for Valentine’s Day,” said the first lady in an interview with Ryan Seacrest. Recently she told Univision radio that the president was “off the hook this year.”

But the Obamas didn’t fly completely under the radar on Saturday. One Washingtonian luckily caught the first couple on video waving to the crowd as they exited the restaurant.
