Aretha Franklin forgives President Obama for spelling flub

“I’m sure the President had much on his agenda and was just a little tired. However, spelling and giving it, is a huge difference. The President and I are mutual when it comes to R-E-S-P-E-C-T.”

–The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, in a statement on Monday forgiving the president’s spelling mishap last week at the “Women of Soul” concert at the White House. Obama apparently didn’t have the brain space to buy an extra vowel and spelled the singer’s famous rallying cry as “R-S-P-E-C-T.”
