Congressman busts a move to Pharrell’s ‘Happy’

Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) isn’t shy about showing off his dance moves. And he proved that once again busting a move to Pharrell Williams’s “Happy” in honor of International Happiness Day.

“Two YouTube videos posted by a staffer show a jolly Lewis swinging his hips to the music. This is my song,” said the congressman.

Lewis’s spokeswoman Brenda Jones told us, “He is a very optimistic person. I think that is one reason he feels that song.”

After telling his staff there’s a lot of work to do, Lewis signed off with a happiness day message (perhaps directed at his colleagues on the Hill?):

“That’s what the government is supposed to do, bring happy, happiness to everybody.”

His office also reminded us that Lewis danced his way onto YouTube in 2012 doing “Gangham Style” with some of his constituents:
