New ‘Late Show’ host Stephen Colbert may have already lost one viewer

“It’d be hard to fathom that 40 percent of Americans that describe themselves as conservative will watch Colbert. And that’s a lot of folks to lose from the jump.”

–Fox News Channel anchor Bill O’Reilly on his eponymous show Monday night in response to a viewer’s email, which described Stephen Colbert, who will take over “The Late Show” at CBS in 2015, as “more left than Letterman,” the talk show’s creator and long-time host. O’Reilly expressed concern over whether or not Colbert’s politics would translate into ratings and instructed his audience to “place your bets now.”
