The most eyeroll-inducing humblebrags from the 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is essentially one evening-long, IRL humblebrag. So it’s particularly grating when attendees feel obliged to compound that with actual, explicit humblebrags on social media, i.e., “I’m so exhausted/aloof/overwhelmed at this cool/glamorous/enviable event that you are — whoops — not at!”

We get it: You’re there. You want the world to know. And you kind of deserve to get called out.

As wonderful as all those broadcasts are, however, this particular “humblebrag” from National Journal reporter Emma Roller may be the most on point:

The caption — geotagged at “exclusive after party” — reads: “OMG can’t believe I got to meet Famous Person tonight. So down to earth.” Exactly.
