“House of Cards” is casting  for filming to begin in the Baltimore area in June, and judging from a recent casting notice, the Netflix show’s third season will be as high-stakes as we’d expect: among the roles the show is filling are an NSA director, a Senate chairman, an ER doctor and a couple of reporters.

The NSA director role seems a particularly interesting addition to the show’s stable of powerful pols with plenty to hide — perhaps the show is going for a ripped-from-the-headlines plot?

The Baltimore Sun has the full list, which just went out to area actors.

This spring, there was plenty of off-camera drama over whether the Netflix show “House of Cards” would return to Maryland, where it filmed its first two seasons, or flee for a location that offered better tax breaks. The Old Line state finally coughed up enough cash to keep the cameras rolling.

Welcome back, Frank.
