People mag snagged Hillary Clinton for its cover this week, and in an exclusive interview, the former SecState dishes on Monica Lewinsky, her exercise routine and 2016.

The magazine is out Friday, but it released a few quotes early. In the interview, Clinton talks up her newly leisure-time-filled life since leaving public service, but the focus is, of course, on her career. And of course there’s flacking her own latest book, “Hard Choices,” due out next week.

Lewinsky recently penned an essay in Vanity Fair, but Clinton tells People she hasn’t read it (book tours and posing for magazine covers keeps one busy!). “I’ve moved on,” she says. And asked if she regrets calling her husband’s onetime mistress a “narcissistic loony toon,” she was characteristically brisk. “I’m not going to comment on what did and didn’t happen,” she said. “I think everybody needs to look to the future.”

What does that future look like? Well, she’s excited to be a grandmother (obviously), a new role that has become intertwined with her possible 2016 presidential run:  “I know I have a decision to make.  With the extra joy of ‘I’m about to become a grandmother,’ I want to live in the moment.  At the same time I am concerned about what I see happening in the country and in the world.  Through the next months, I will think more about what role I can or, in my mind, should play.”

For now, Clinton — who appears on the cover looking poolside-relaxed — says that since stepping down from her globe-trotting post she has spent time organizing her closets and doing water aerobics and yoga.

And she’s got a manifesto. “I’m at an age where I can pretty much do what I want:  Here I am, whether you like my hair or not.”
