Joe Biden and James Earl Jones have something in common

– Vice President Biden, speaking of actor James Earl Jones at the annual Ford’s Theatre gala in Washington.

Biden and Jones, who was awarded the Lincoln medal at Sunday night’s ceremony, had speech impediments as children.

Biden said his stuttering was “dehumanizing and embarrassing,” but he overcame it by reading poetry (Ralph Waldo Emerson and W.B. Yeats) in his bedroom mirror.
