Pop star Katy Perry got a warm introduction to the White House on Thursday night by President Obama, who called her a "wonderful person" before she took the stage to perform at the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics. Perry isn't the first musician the president has deemed one of his favorites. Here are four others who join the "Roar" singer on Obama's playlist. (JulieAnn McKellogg/The Washington Post)

President Obama likes a good tune … and has even attempted to carry one of his own for a crowd at a campaign event a few years ago.

So it wasn’t much a of surprise that the White House brought in pop star Katy Perry for an unannounced performance at a reception honoring the Special Olympics on Thursday night.

The star-studded gala in the East Room included Kareem Abdul-JabbarAndy Roddick, Dikembe Mutombo, Steve Case, Stevie Wonder and all of the children of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the founder of Special Olympics.

Before Perry serenaded the crowd with her hit “Roar,” the president gushed about how “wonderful” the singer is and how much he “loves” her.

Sorry Katy, but you aren’t the only one. We came up with a list of Obama’s five favorite musicians based on his remarks and/or the number of times they performed for him and FLOTUS. Cue video.
