Bill Clinton buries Bain attacks

Oh my goodness, this is simply devastating:

You have to love the line about Romney’s “sterling business record.” Maybe Bill Clinton is trying to save President Obama from his campaign staff that has botched this entire line of attack. Or maybe he likes being the only Democratic president since FDR to serve more than one term. Regardless, if an ex-president perceived as a moderate Democrat has this to say about Mitt Romney’s Bain record, you can stick a fork in the anti-Bain hooey. It’s done.

Update (6/1 10:11 a.m.): House Minority leader Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) just joined the bury-Bain-attacks brigade. I believe the operative phrase is “rats leaving a sinking ship.”
