Morning Bits

Unbelievable that the Obama administration opposes this. “Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) convened her committee on Thursday morning to approve the House version of the Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012, legislation meant to promote human rights in Russia that is named for the anti-corruption lawyer who died in a Russian prison, after allegedly being tortured, two years ago.”

Unbelievable spin that Bill Clinton didn’t know what he was doing. “Clinton aides: Bill screwed up.” Yeah, riggght.

Unbelievable nonchalance from the Obama team. I suspect they are stunned. “Obama campaign press secretary Ben LaBolt said . . . on a conference call with reporters that the Obama side expected the Republicans to beat them in fundraising this month.”

Unbelievable that he’s allowed to run around loose. Former Democratic National Committee chief Ed Rendell says that Hillary Clinton would have been a better president, coming in “with a lot more executive experience.”

Unbelievable to some that his campaign is turning out to be as bad as his presidency. “[Obama] has had to weather a disastrously bad May jobs report, Bill Clinton veering off message on the economy, a wider-than-expected loss in the Wisconsin recall election and a $16 million fundraising gap with Republicans in May. One of those developments is a blip on the radar. Two is a bump in the road. Three is a cause for concern. Four sets off mild panic.”

Unbelievable that this woman is a prosecutor. Alan Dershowitz says that Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey, who will handle the case against George Zimmerman, went on “a 40-minute rant, during which she threatened to sue Harvard Law School, to try to get me disciplined by the Bar Association and to file charges against me for libel and slander.” Threatening him is about as dumb as threatening a journalist. It’s only going to make it worse.

Unbelievable. Period. “Nancy Pelosi: Health law represents ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’ ”
