Morning Bits

Is all that money necessary? “ ‘There’s absolutely no correlation between the size of the bank account and the size of the IQ, and anybody who raises money will second that,’ said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. ‘A lot of wealthy people are surprisingly ignorant about politics.’ ”

Is all the country benefiting from the Obama economy? Actually, hardly any of it is: “The income of the typical U.S. family fell or was flat in almost every state last year, with the drop particularly steep in places where the economy has been hit hard by the housing bust.”

Is all the “change” talk now coming from the Republicans? Mitt Romney: “His slogan was ‘Yes, we can.’ His slogan now is ‘No, I can’t.’ This is time for a new president.” President Obama walked into that one. (Sometimes he forgets he is the incumbent, I guess.)

Is all that excuse-mongering just coulda, woulda, shoulda? Obama says the lack of immigration reform is not for lack of trying. Well, he might have come up with a comprehensive immigration plan.

Is all that data on defense sequestration ever going to see the light of day? Senators try to pry it out of the White House.

Is all the evidence right there, in the report? Yup. “House Republicans on Thursday said the Justice Department watchdog’s report on the bungled Fast and Furious gun-trafficking sting vindicated their efforts to pressure Attorney General Eric Holder over missteps in the operation.”
