Morning Bits

I know what he means. “Paul Ryan Tells Hunters Thought of Second Obama Term Makes Him ‘Shudder.’ ”

He knows which candidate to root for. “Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has weighed in on the U.S. presidential race, saying he prefers President Barack Obama.”

You know, a guy who thinks movies cause jihadist attacks on America isn’t all that sophisticated. Thomas Friedman coos that President Obama “understands that we really do live in a more complex world today.”

I wonder if the Romney camp knows how effective it would be to put David Axelrod in an ad for the Romney-Ryan ticket. He really does make the White House sound like a bunch of liars. “Within the past couple days, the U.S. intelligence community and the Obama administration have admitted that their reading of the attacks as a spontaneous outgrowth of riots was incorrect, and that they now saw it as a pre-meditated act of terror. But wait — according to Axelrod, Obama knew this all along. He launched his defense of Obama by saying, ‘First of all, the president called it an act of terror the day after it happened.’ But unfortunately, he didn’t.”

You know that if George W. Bush were president, the left would say his negligence led to the deaths of four Americans. “U.S. officials appear to have underestimated the threat facing both the ambassador and other Americans. They had not reinforced the U.S. diplomatic outpost there to meet strict safety standards for government buildings overseas. Nor had they posted a U.S. Marine detachment, as at other diplomatic sites in high-threat regions. A U.S. military team assigned to establish security at the new embassy in Tripoli, in a previously undisclosed detail, was never instructed to fortify the temporary hub in the east. Instead, a small local guard force was hired by a British private security firm as part of a contract worth less than half of what it costs to deploy a single U.S. service member in a war zone for a year.”

Do you think that Obama and Hillary Clinton know now how misguided was their TV ad there condemning the anti-Muslim movie? “Even lawmakers who support engaging with Pakistan were left shaking their heads this week after that country’s leader demanded that the United Nations make blasphemy illegal.”

I think by now that the voters know this is bunk. “Vice President Joe Biden placed the blame for the ballooning deficit on the Bush administration today, arguing that the previous administration saddled the country with the burden of trillions of dollars in debt.” Obama inherited a $10 trillion debt; it’s now at $16 trillion.
