My name is . . .

Thank you, Jen, for that kind introduction! I’m looking forward to spending the next five days hanging out with readers at The Washington Post.

By way of introduction, I’ve been a writer at The Weekly Standard since I graduated from Columbia University in 2003. My two books are “The K Street Gang: The Rise and Fall of the Republican Machine” (2006) and “The Persecution of Sarah Palin: How the Elite Media Tried to Bring Down a Rising Star” (2009). My last piece for The Post was called “Five Myths About Sarah Palin.” I write a weekly newsletter for The Standard that you can sign up for here.

One of the reasons I love journalism is that it’s the last refuge of a generalist. Still, my writing tends to focus on national politics and the economy. I’ll write about both topics here, while recommending links and sharing passages from my current reading. And without further delay . . .
