Outrageous. “Why is the social networking site allowing terrorist groups with American blood on their hands to use its service? . . . . During the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, it came to light that the military wing of Hamas — the Ezzedeen al-Qassam Brigades — was operating a twitter account (@AlqassamBrigade). These terrorists used this service to threaten Israeli civilians and brag about the missiles they fire at Israeli population centers. More than 30,000 members of Christians United for Israel have emailed Twitter, asking it to ban Hamas. But Hamas tweets on.” Read the whole thing.

Ludicrous even for the Gray Lady. “[F]or the combination of arrogance and inaccuracy one can’t beat the editorial the New York Times ran out this week under the headline ‘Personal Guns and the Second Amendment.’ That’s the one in which the Times declared: ‘The text of the Second Amendment creates no right to private possession of guns, but Justice Antonin Scalia found one in legal history for himself and the other four conservatives.’ . . .  [T]he fact is that it’s not just ‘conservatives’ who credit the Supreme Court’s ruling. How about, say, Justice Kagan? Or how about one of the most liberal lions of the Senate, Patrick Leahy?” And the New York Times, of all outlets, shouldn’t be whining about “finding” new rights in the Constitution.

Preposterous. “The White House on Tuesday said President Obama ‘is not willing to accept’ Speaker John Boehner’s ‘Plan B’ to avoid the fiscal cliff. Boehner (R-Ohio) on Tuesday announced the House would vote on legislation to extend tax rates on income below $1 million as a backup plan in case his talks with Obama fail. The White House rejected Boehner’s proposal, saying it ‘doesn’t ask enough of the very wealthiest in taxes and instead shifts the burden to the middle class and seniors.’” Actually, it doesn’t shift anything to them, it protects those groups. But maybe he’ll veto it and raise everyone’s taxes.

Hillarious. “Republicans offer tax hikes for income of more than $1 million, which some Democrats used to support. But that was just ‘a plan to smoke out the Republicans’ true position,’ [House Minority Leader Nancy] Pelosi says.” You can’t make this stuff up.

Nonsensical. Whatever you think, a poll three-and-a-half years out is totally meaningless. Hence, it becomes a Politico story! “New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie tops the GOP 2016 presidential field in favorability ratings, according to a poll out Tuesday. Christie has a 55 percent favorability rating among registered voters, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) with 46 percent and Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) with 45 percent, according to a national poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University.” Sigh.

Despicable. “Five female anti-polio workers in Pakistan were slain Tuesday by gunmen on motorcycles, police said, on the second day of a three-day national immunization campaign. Four of the women were killed in Karachi, the nation’s largest city, and the fifth in Peshawar. Sagheer Ahmed, the health minister for Sindh province, whose capital is Karachi, ordered a halt to the anti-polio drive in the port city after the shootings.” This is the civilizational war we are engaged in.

Pathetic. Chuck Hagel now “seen backpedaling on opposition to Iran strike.” Why of course he is. He was also for the Iraq war before he was against it. “Political opportunist” is not exactly what you look for in a secretary of defense.
