This week’s distinction goes to a group — a bipartisan one, to boot. Sens. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) and a group of distinguished retired military women (Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) came along, too) spoke out against the highly politicized and irrational approach to prosecution of sexual assaults in the military, which would take the process out of the chain of command. Take some time to view the news conference, which gives one hope that competent people of good will can cut through the cant and the hyperbole:
Well done, ladies and Sen. Tester!
