The bellowing voices opposed to immigration reform don’t necessarily have the most support. “With Congress out of town for five weeks, many predicted that immigration reform would fall by the wayside, but back at home, several Republican congressmen have voiced support for a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.”

It’s not just the Obamcare rollout that is screaming “disaster”; the entire structure of the legislation is misguided. From NBC News: “Employers around the country, from fast-food franchises to colleges, have told NBC News that they will be cutting workers’ hours below 30 a week because they can’t afford to offer the health insurance mandated by the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.”

More conservatives should be hollering at elected Republicans to rally around an Obamacare alternative. “Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich on Wednesday told party chairs and operatives  at the Republican National Committee summer meeting that the GOP has ‘zero’  ideas for replacing Obamacare, according to a report.” Actually, they have many members with ideas but no coherent strategy for unifying and passing a plan.

The press would be screeching if President George W. Bush had dared to do this. “The president hit the links at Martha’s Vineyard for the third time in four days after a morning security briefing from national security adviser Susan Rice that  included discussion of the crackdown on protesters in Egypt, according to White House spokesman Josh Earnest.”

The administration has spent so much time singing its own praises about “smart” diplomacy. This is anything but. “Mr. Kerry, who was speaking on behalf of a vacationing President Obama, did not disclose any specific American response to the crackdown and left without taking questions from reporters.” We have no policy and never have had one under this administration.

The press is clamoring for answers on Egypt. Instead, the State Department spokeswoman, the worst in memory, lamely says, “Certainly, there have been some significant bumps in the road. But our focus is on getting back to a sustainable path to democracy. And that’s what we’re — what we’re working on every single day.” With no positive results whatsoever.

The president has been howling about “phony” scandals. They are quite real. “Damning evidence against Lois Lerner and other top IRS officials continues to mount. We learned Tuesday that Lerner used a personal e-mail account to conduct official business, an act that has the potential to frustrate both Congress’s requests for documents and the public’s freedom-of-information requests. That disclosure came on the heels of revelations that Lerner shared the tax information of at least one conservative group with an FEC investigator, perhaps in violation of federal law.”
