Ravens player records anti-gay marriage video

Earlier this week I told you that Baltimore Ravens center Matt Birk had come out against gay marriage, putting him on the opposite end of the field as his teammate Brendon Ayanbadejo, who has publicly supported the idea even while being blasted by a state delegate.

Ayanbadejo defended Birk’s right to have an opinion that differed from his own. “Matt Birk is an amazing father, teammate, man! Even if he & I disagree on marriage equality we agree on 95% of other issues,” he tweeted, adding, “I don’t think he’s homophobic at all.”

Birk has now recorded a video message opposing the upcoming referendum on gay marriage in Maryland. The video was posted this morning on YouTube, and I found it in the Maryland Catholic Conference channel.

Here it is. (And below his video is Ayanbadejo’s message supporting gay marriage in Maryland.)
