Yet another accolade has been heaped on Duchess Catherine’s (née Kate Middleton) head — quite literally, since she was named “Hat Person of the Year” by the Headwear Association. Yep, “Hat Person” is the real title of the award.

The Duchess so excelled at hat-wearing this year that she beat out headwear aficionados Rachel Zoe, Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake — as well as 2012 Headwear Hall of Fame inductees Lady Gaga, Victoria Beckham and LL Cool J.
How is this not hat of the year? Beatrice was robbed.

But really, the biggest snub in this year’s competition was Princess Beatrice, who inspired many a Halloween costume with her, um, fascinating fascinator at the royal wedding. Beatrice should be demanding a recount right now.
Previous winners of the award, which began in 2009, include Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt. It’s one of several prizes for the Duchess this year — she was also named Harper’s Bazaar’s best-dressed, and was the runner-up for Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. If there was an award for shiniest hair, she’d be a shoo-in.
