Juventus vs. D.C. United friendly July 28 at RFK Stadium all but finalized

The proposed friendly between D.C. United and Juventus isn’t quite official yet, but Ticketmaster has posted the event. So unless the Italian Serie A champions decide to tear up the contract tonight, this match is going to happen July 28 at RFK Stadium.

Kickoff is listed as 8 p.m. ET, but that’s likely to change for national TV coverage earlier in the evening. Tickets, scheduled to go on sale next Monday, will cost $35 to $65 before service charges.

As the Insider reported last week, the Washington Redskins weren’t able to finalize a FedEx doubleheader on that date, featuring AC Milan vs. Chelsea and DCU vs. Juventus.

Milan and Chelsea have agreed to meet July 28 in Miami.

The Juventus-United match would be the same day as Liverpool vs. Tottenham Hotspur at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore — a 1 p.m. kickoff. The ticket prices range from $36 to $125, not including service charges.

Juventus, which is undefeated (22-0-15) heading into the regular season finale Saturday against Atalanta, is planning to play two or three matches on the North American tour. Other cities under consideration, I’m told, include Montreal and Las Vegas.

Friendlies announced Monday: Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Real Madrid on Aug. 2 at Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., and Chelsea vs. Paris Saint-Germain on July 22 at Yankee Stadium in New York.
