Tuesday kickaround: MLS, CONCACAF, U.S. friendlies, Americans abroad, TV listings

The MLS season opener, featuring the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles Galaxy, doesn’t start until 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN), so you won’t miss a second — not a second! — of the NCAA tournament game between UNC Ashville and Arkansas-Little Rock on TruTV. Whew. The Los Angeles Times looks at the 2011 Galaxy.

*In my take on the MLS season, I write about the new teams, coaches, players and stadiums. The story can also be found on The Post’s redesigned soccer page, which provides links to recent stories, access to the Insider, archives, schedules and an international news feed.

*The biggest MLS match of the day is not the league opener. It’s the first leg of Real Salt Lake’s CONCACAF Champions League semifinals with Costa Rican club Saprissa (10 p.m. ET, Fox Soccer Channel). The Salt Lake Tribune offers a preview. Game-time weather: 53 degrees and cloudy.

*Ticket sales update for U.S. friendlies: 50,000 at the Meadowlands for Argentina on March 26 and 15,000 in Nashville for Paraguay three days later. The U.S. roster is tentatively scheduled for release Thursday.

*Americans abroad:

Monday

D Zak Whitbread 90 in Norwich’s 3-1 win over Bristol City

Tuesday

F Eddie Johnson and Preston at Scunthorpe

D Frank Simek and Carlisle vs. MF Anton Peterlin and Plymouth
