Video: Freddy Adu, Landon Donovan set up Clint Dempsey for 1-0 U.S. victory over Panama in CONCACAF Gold Cup

Clarence Goodson wins a header outside the U.S. box. Freddy Adu settles with a touch pass to Michael Bradley, who pushes the ball wide to Alejandro Bedoya.

Bedoya cuts inside and supplies Adu, who follows the ball to the center circle before serving a 35-yard left-footed pass to Landon Donovan deep on the right flank.

Without resistance, Donovan strides into the box and strikes a low cross past four defenders to Clint Dempsey for a sliding finish and a 1-0 lead in the 76th minute. With a third consecutive shutout, the Americans advance to the championship match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In the late semifinal, Mexico needed extra time to shake off Honduras, 2-0.
