Video: Palencia scores in Pumas’ 1-1 draw with Morelia in first leg of Mexican Clausura finals

Before the arrival of David Beckhamand and other high-profile stars in recent years, Mexico’s Juan Francisco Palencia was MLS’s highest-paid player with earnings of $1.36 million in 2006 with Chivas USA. Palencia played 1 1/2 seasons with Chivas, scoring seven goals in 32 league appearances, before returning to Mexico and joining Pumas. On Thursday night, the 38-year-old striker scored a smashing goal in a 1-1 draw at Morelia in the first leg of the Mexican Clausura finals. The second match is Sunday in Mexico City (1 p.m. ET, Telemundo).
