D.C. United’s depth chart

February 25, 2013

With five days until the season opener at Houston, D.C. United is close to finalizing the roster.

Midfielder Lance Rozeboom, who missed almost his entire rookie season last year with a knee injury, was cut over the weekend. The club has agreed to terms with Canadian midfielder Kyle Porter but hasn’t announced the deal yet. Midfield trialist Marcos Sanchez showed well and is likely to be purchased from Panamanian club Tauro soon.

Otherwise, barring an 11th-hour move, the roster is about set. Four players will report to the third-division Richmond Kickers in a few weeks for full-time duty, with the flexibility for in-season call-ups. Judging by the depth chart, Ethan White, Taylor Kemp, Conor Shanosky and Casey Townsend are the top candidates.
