Mexico sets roster for World Cup qualifiers

Jose Manuel de la Torre has set his roster for the Mexican national team’s World Cup qualifiers against Honduras next Friday in San Pedro Sula and the United States on March 26 at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

GOALKEEPERS: Guillermo Ochoa (Ajaccio/France), Jesus Corona (Cruz Azul), Alfredo Talavera (Toluca).

DEFENDERS: Severo Mezza (Monterrey), Jonny Magallon (Leon), Francisco Javier Rodriguez (Club America), Hector Moreno (Espanyol/Spain), Hugo Ayala (Tigres), Diego Reyes (Club America), Jorge Torres Nilo (Tigres), Carlos Salcido (Tigres).

MIDFIELDERS: Jesus Zavala (Monterrey), Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul), Jesus Molina (Club America), Hector Herrera (Pachuca), Javier Aquino (Villarreal/Spain), Andres Guardado (Valencia/Spain), Angel Reyna (Pachuca).

FORWARDS: Giovani dos Santos (Mallorca/Spain), Oribe Peralta (Santos Laguna), Javier Hernandez (Manchester United/England), Omar Bravo (Atlas), Raul Alonso Jimenez (Club America).

U.S. Coach Juergen Klinsmann is still a few days away from announcing his squad for qualifiers against Costa Rica in Denver and Mexico.
