My match report with a few quotes from D.C. United’s 2-2 draw against the Los Angeles Galaxy at RFK Stadium.

Landon Donovan exited at halftime with a left ankle injury. “It got rolled on. We got tangled up and [a United player] ended up landing on it. Hopefully it’s not too bad.”

Teammate A.J. DeLaGarza dislocated his left elbow in an early fall.

Chris Pontius‘ goal was his first in the run of play in 364 days. After his first start in two-plus months Saturday, he said is on track to reach full fitness in time for the U.S. Open Cup final Oct. 1.

United has scored only 17 goals in 28 league matches but six in the past three home dates.

The next three are on the road: New England Revolution next Saturday, Toronto FC on Sept. 28 and Real Salt Lake in the Open Cup. As of now, there is no deal for live streaming of the championship game (GolTV only).

Base payrolls of starting lineups:

Galaxy $7.7 million (not including Omar Gonzalez‘s DP raise last month)

United $1.9 million
