D.C. United 1, Philadelphia Union 0

(D.C. United)
(D.C. United)

The last time D.C. United won a regular season away match, the lineup looked like this:

Hamid; Najar, Jakovic, McDonald, Korb; DeLeon, Kitchen, Saragosa, Neal, Pontius; Pajoy. Subs: Santos, Boskovic, Salihi.

Najar is now in Belgium. Jakovic is in Japan and McDonald ended up in Sweden. Pajoy returned to Colombia. Santos is in Mexico, Boskovic inAustria and Salihi in Israel.

Yeah, it’s been a while.

With a 1-0 victory at Philadelphia, United halted its winless rut away from RFK at 21 games (0-16-5), the second-longest skid in MLS history behind New York’s 27 in a row in 2008-09.

United (4-3-2) has now surpassed last year’s win total — not that that was some lofty figure.

Next: Montreal Impact (1-5-3) on Saturday night in Washington. (third straight week DCU has faced a club with one or no victories)
