Oops: Uruguay’s Luis Suarez featured as the ‘Supersport’ in this week’s ‘Mini Page’

Well, this is awkward. Luis Suarez is featured as “Gus Goodsport’s Supersport” in this week’s edition of The Mini Page — the syndicated weekly tabloid for kids that appears in more than 500 newspapers, including The Washington Post.

Suarez, of course, hasn’t been a particularly good sport of late. FIFA suspended the Uruguayan forward for nine matches and banned him from any football-related activity for four months after he bit Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during a World Cup match on Tuesday. Suarez has since claimed he lost his balance and did not deliberately bite Chiellini. The Mini Page, which produces its tabloids at least four weeks in advance, acknowledged the unfortunate timing of this week’s issue  and urged parents to use Suarez’s inclusion as a teaching opportunity.
