Tim Howard predicted future in yearbook quote

After his record-setting performance Tuesday against Belgium at the World Cup round of 16, Tim Howard became many things to Americans.

Someone changed the Wikipedia page for the U.S. Secretary of Defense to a photo of the 35-year-old goalkeeper and the Internet has been keeping busy inserting him into memes.

And after his yearbook photo with the most fitting quote surfaced on Reddit, it’s time to add fortune teller to the list.

“It will take a nation of millions to hold me back,” Howard wrote.

The quote is in reference to hip-hop group Public Enemy’s 1988 album, but the line is still quite fitting.

For the better part of 120 minutes of play, Howard truly was stopping almost everything Belgium, which has a population of more than 11 million, had for him.
