It’s only the second week of filming for the Kickstarter-funded “Veronica Mars” movie, and the Internet has already been flooded with (mostly paparazzi) photos from the set. But Warner Bros. just released the first official shot from the film.
The photo tells us nothing, but nonetheless stoked the Internet frenzy that occurs anytime there’s another update about the film, a sequel to the cult favorite WB drama (canceled in 2007) about a teenage private detective. In case you missed it, three months ago, the show’s creator told fans that if they could raise $2 million via online fundraising system Kickstarter, he and star Kristen Bell would commit to making a movie — and Warner Bros. would pay for the rest.
Not only did the project raise $2 million almost immediately, it shattered Kickstarter records (the third most-funded project in history), and ushered in a controversial era of stars trying to get fans to fund their passion projects.
Anyway, “Veronica Mars” is off and running, as these other set photos prove. And below, an update on where things stand with the movie, just in case you’ve lost track.
