The images of a relieved looking Princess Diana and half-smiling Prince Charles with their new baby boy are the forefront of royal watchers’ minds Tuesday as the world waits for Kate and Will to emerge from the St. Mary’s Hospital.
It will be the first time people will get a glimpse of the new heir, though he will likely be swaddled in blankets as was Prince William 31 years ago.
Other memories of Diana, specifically her wishes for her children to be raised as “normally” as possible, are being called to mind as people speculate on how William and his wife will raise their own child.
Many are guessing William will be influenced by his mother’s sensibilities and that he and Kate will not rely heavily on nannies but will raise the baby themselves along with help from the Middletons.
ABC resurfaced clips of a memorable interview with Diana in 1995 with the BBC and advice that William has undoubtedly taken to heart.
