Designer Peter Som bounced lightly between shifts, suits and coats in his Fall 2014 collection, shown Friday at Milk Studios. After the show, he said he wanted to bring back a sense of romance from the ’60s, with the ease of the ’70s.

His pea coats, in marine and lacquered wool, were inspired by Jane Birkin. He also slipped in a black worsted wool jumpsuit with a tuxedo stripe.

“I feel like jumpsuits have been trending for a while, and I really wanted to do one,” he told Style Blog post-show. “It’s one of the most effortless ways to dress.”

But the real take-away was the blurred floral prints, all roses that he dubbed slightly mysterious, shown on sweaters, coats and on a final silk twill skirt.
