Oscars 2014 FAQ: Where to watch the show, all the red carpet coverage and the after-shows

Follow along with the Post live blog of the red carpet and the ceremony.

Where can I watch the Oscars?

The 86th Academy Awards air Sunday, March 2 at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.

If you have one of these eight cable providers and live in one of eight certain cities (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh-Durham and Fresno), you can also watch on the Watch ABC app or ABC.com.

What time will the Oscars be over?

Hopefully 11:30 p.m., but you know how those acceptance speeches go – add some extra time to your DVR.

Who is hosting the show?

Talk show host/comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who hosts for a second time; she first helmed the show back in 2007 when “The Departed” won Best Picture. DeGeneres is also the anti-Seth MacFarlane, who made a lot of people mad with his frat boy humor when he hosted last year.

Who is going to win?

Our critics will tell you! “American Hustle” and “Gravity” are tied for the most nominations with 10 each, while “12 Years a Slave” has nine nods.

Who is performing?

Some artists who you wouldn’t ever associate with the Oscars, including pop star Pink and indie rocker Karen O; but the latter is nominated for original song (“The Moon Song” from “Her”). Bette Midler will perform for the first time, along with Broadway singer Idina Menzel. Original Song nominees U2 (“Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”) and Pharrell Williams (“Despicable Me 2″ will also take the stage.

Where can I watch the fashion?

Red carpet shows are sometimes the best part of the night, and there several different options this year.

“Live from the Red Carpet: The 2014 Academy Awards” (E!, 5:30 to 8:30): As usual, Ryan Seacrest will be hounding celebrities about who they’re wearing. Usual red carpet co-host Giuliana Rancic is sent to the Roosevelt Hotel with Dave Karger to analyze the madness, while Kelly Osbourne and Ross Mathew are in a skybox to talk fashion. (Watch online here.)

“Oscars Red Carpet Live!” (ABC, 7 to 8:30): Robin Roberts and Lara Spencer, half of the “Good Morning America” team, trade off red carpet interviewing duties with People/Entertainment Weekly editor Jess Cagle and actor Tyson Beckford. (Watch online here if you have the Watch ABC app — see above.)

“KTLA’s Live From the Oscars” (CW, 6 to 7:30): We’ve never seen the red carpet show broadcast by the local Los Angeles ABC station, but from what we’ve heard, you’re in for an awkward treat. (It’s hosted by KTLA’s Jessica Holmes and Sam Rubin, the guy who confused Samuel L. Jackson for Laurence Fishburne earlier this year.)

“TVGN Live With Entertainment Tonight at the Oscars” (TVGN, 5 to 7:30): Alec Baldwin’s daughter, Ireland Baldwin, joins the “ET” team (Nancy O’Dell and Rob Marciano) for a red carpet special.

“Oscars 2014: Red Carpet Live” (MTV, 5 to 7:30) No access to a TV? MTV’s Josh Horowitz and VH1′s Kate Spencer will interview celebs, available on MTV, VH1 and Logo’s sites.

What if I want to start watching Oscars coverage even earlier?

No problem: E!’s “Countdown to the Red Carpet: the 2014 Academy Awards” starts at 1:30 p.m., featuring the red carpet team along with the network’s Jason Kennedy, Catt Sadler, George Kotsiopoulos and more previewing the night.

Is there an after-show? There better be: Everything has an after-show these days.

As usual “Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars” (ABC, 12:05 a.m. to 1:07 a.m.) will feature a hodgepodge of celebrities and videos that are primed to go viral. This year’s batch includes “headliner” Kevin Spacey (so maybe a “House of Cards” theme) along with A-listers such as  Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Martin Scorsese, Chris Hemsworth, Liam Hemsworth,  Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, S Queen Latifah and many more.

“E!’s After Party: The 2014 Academy Awards” (E!, 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.): The E! team (which includes Khloe Kardashian in this case) interviews the winners and has a fashion recap.

When do people say mean things about all the dresses?

That’s on Monday, with a special 90-minute “Fashion Police (9:30 to 11 p.m.), with Joan Rivers and crew critiquing every outfit from the Oscars and choosing the best and worst dressed.

If you’re looking for something a little kinder and more entertaining, America’s new favorite ice skating commentators, Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski will help out “Access Hollywood” on Monday’s show, recapping the night before with clips from the red carpet.
