The most popular trend sweeping through TV this spring? Michelle Obama.

The first lady continues her march across scripted television with a guest appearance on Disney sitcom “Jessie” on May 16, the network announced Monday. Not a stranger to TV, this will be the third appearance for Obama this spring, as she will also appear on ABC’s “Nashville” next month and the season finale of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” on April 24.

On “Jessie,” the sitcom about a girl (Debby Ryan) who moves from a tiny town in Texas to nanny for a wealthy New York City family, the first lady will be stopping by during a military-themed episode that she filmed in January in Los Angeles. A young girl decides she doesn’t want to celebrate her birthday without her mother, a deployed member of the military; so Jessie and crew enlist the help of Obama to change her mind.

The first lady made a cameo as herself during a similar storyline last year on Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” — she frequently appears on TV for appearances related to supporting the military, along with her fitness initiative. She’s also appeared on reality shows including “The Biggest Loser” and “Iron Chef America,” not to mention her slew of late-night appearances.

In this case, the first lady has had a long history with Disney — last year, she was a keynote speaker at Disney’s Veterans Institute, and has appeared on multiple talk shows on the Disney-owned ABC network, including “Good Morning America” and “The View.” (The cast of “Jessie” will also be in attendance at the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday.)

No word on what Obama will do this week on “Parks and Recreation”; on the May 7 episode of “Nashville,” she’ll apparently be hosting a military charity event with Kellie Pickler.
