While recently singing along to Miranda Lambert’s fantastic new album, “Platinum,” I was struck by how the country superstar had managed to summon more poise and personality than previously imaginable.
It reminded me of Beyoncé‘s most recent album, also her fifth, also her best.
There are other parallels in their discographies. For instance, Lambert’s fourth album had a “four” in the title while Beyoncé‘s fourth album was titled “4.” Also: They’ve each been photographed for two different album covers doing weird things with their arms.
But whose albums are better? I made those hard decisions — and in the case of “Beyoncé” vs. “Platinum,” failed to — in the hand-drawn news graphic above.
