Greetings from Alex Prewitt, the new Terps writer

Greetings dear readers.

Allow me to apologize for barging in here yesterday and posting on Terrapins Insider without introducing myself. That was incredibly rude. Rest assured, it will not happen again.

Now, for the pleasantry exchange.

My name is Alex Prewitt. I’m The Washington Post’s new Maryland beat writer. I’m from Falls Church and I graduated this May from Tufts University, a small school on the same Boston subway line as Harvard and MIT. Our nickname is the Jumbos. Jumbo was a circus elephant.

I arrive at The Post after spending the summer with the Boston Globe, covering the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots and tennis matches where they play Chingy songs before and after points. I’ve written for ESPN.com, the Minneapolis Star Tribune and USA Today, among other outlets.

But enough about me. Are you enjoying your day? How’s that sandwich you brought and/or bought for lunch? Great? Glad to hear it.

Back to me. My e-mail is alex.prewitt@washpost.com. Follow me on Twitter @alex_prewitt. Reach out any time. I enjoy hearing from you. I’m new around these parts, so let’s open a dialogue.

I look forward to diving into Terps coverage, and to sharing this blog space with you. Thanks for reading. Go finish that sandwich now. It’s getting stale.
