Juan Dixon to be inducted into U-Md. Hall of Fame

Juan Dixon, Maryland’s all-time basketball scoring leader, is part of a class of five former Terrapins athletes and two coaches set to be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame, the athletic department announced Friday.

Dixon finished his career with 2,269 points and led Maryland to the NCAA title as a senior. He was named most outstanding player in the NCAA tournament as well as first-team all-American and ACC player of the year.

Also included in the Class of 2012 are football player Paul Vellano, field hockey player Carla Tagliente, women’s lacrosse players Jen Adams and Sarah Forbes, former baseball coach Tom Bradley and former women’s lacrosse coach Cindy Timchal.
