Edsall offers condolences to Torrey Smith

Terrapins Coach Randy Edsall opened his scheduled Sunday teleconference by offering his sympathies to former Maryland wide receiver Torrey Smith, whose younger brother Tevin died in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning in Northern Virginia.

“My thoughts and prayers and our team’s thoughts and prayers go out to Torrey and his family,” Edsall said. “We heard about the passing of his brother Tevin this morning. We want him to know that everyone at the University of Maryland football program is thinking about his family and praying for them. Hopefully our thoughts and prayers will help him get through this very tough time.”
