Terps grab bag: Maryland to play in Brooklyn next season, O’Brien update

Couple of basketball and football items for you.

The Maryland men’s basketball team will take on Kentucky on Nov. 9, 2012, in the inaugural Barclays Classic at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. It’ll be a homecoming for Terrapins forward James Padgett, who hails from Brooklyn, and a homecoming of sorts for Maryland forward Ashton Pankey, who’s from the Bronx.

Moving over to football, Coach Randy Edsall discussed the season-ending injury to quarterback Danny O’Brien on Tuesday, saying the third-year sophomore “is in a lot of pain right now but getting better.” Edsall also was asked about if he was concerned that O’Brien will transfer after this season

After spending the first 17 years of his Post career writing and editing, Matt and the printed paper had an amicable divorce in 2014. He's now blogging and editing for the Early Lead and the Post's other Web-based products.
