Maryland senior defensive lineman Joe Vellano was named to two more watch lists for postseason awards on Thursday, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy (nation’s best defensive player) and Outland Trophy (best interior lineman, offense or defense).
On Monday, Vellano was named to the preseason watch list for the Bednarik Award, also given to the nation’s top defensive player. On Tuesday, Matt Furstenburg was named to the watch list for the Mackey Award, given to the nation’s top tight end.
